Monitoring
Beyond location and
presence tracking and awareness, active RFID solutions
can be used to monitor a variety of conditions.
With integrated sensors
for temperature, humidity, fluids, motion, tampering and
a growing number of other conditions, active RFID
systems can be used to monitor these conditions on
assets, people, equipment, vehicles and machinery.
Active RFID tags are also available with inputs that
allow for the interface with virtually any data output,
with dry contact tags further enabling the application
possibilities.
Significant cost
reductions and operational efficiencies can be realized
in locations like data centers when RFID is used to
monitor heat and humidity to ensure the optimal
conditions exist for equipment operation. RFID-based
data center applications can even detect the absence or
movement of equipment associated with specific rooms or
racks.
Storage areas,
inventory storage and a number of other areas can
similarly benefit from this versatile RFID application. |
